The EPGC 2009 was a succes
The first edition of the European People Governance Conference was a success. 200 participants from business and academia gathered at the Infrabel Ateliers to discuss the issue of people governance. Best practices were shared, concepts were analysed and new questions were raised. However, the main conclusion of the conference is straightforward. As prof. Ed Freeman stated in his Epegon Lecture 2009: "If we get people governance right then corporate governance will be an outcome."
A number of plenary presentations are now available for download:
EUROPEAN PEOPLE GOVERNANCE CONFERENCE
17-18 September 2009, Brussels (Belgium)
The world economy has been plunged into a devastating crisis. And there is no miracle remedy for this multidimensional problem. However, one of the questions to emerge is whether a focus on the numbers alone will bring salvation. At Epegon, the European People Governance Network, we believe that corporations who also put their people at the core of the decision-making process will be able to make a change. During the first European People Governance Conference we wish to bring together both corporate leaders (directors, CEOs and VPs) and academics to discuss this topic and to share best practices.
