Principles
The Epegon Foundation wishes to act on two fundamental principles:
Objectives
1. To be focussed on practices of people governance and on the understanding of factors and actors that influence it.
The purpose of a company is to create wealth and added value. The question asked by the foundation has to do with the meaning of people governance practice and how to integrate them in the decision-making process.
To attain its objectives, the Foundation establishes and cultivates privileged relations with all public or private actors, institutions, companies or personalities who are keen on bolstering the understanding and application of the principles of people governance as set out in its Charter and editions drawn up for the attention of business leaders and their Board of Directors. Its mission also includes developing or helping to develop articles, studies and research, the creation of an educational, managerial and scientific publishing fund devoted to people governance and related issues. It will draw particular dynamism from the quest for a sound understanding of cultural differences of and approaches to people governance throughout the world.
2. To raise awareness, and providing information on the meaning of and place to be accorded to people governance.
The Foundation must be a dynamic, public European Actor that fosters discussion and reflection, stimulates exchanges of good practices and organises events, forums, seminars and master classes for professionals in a structured manner, each time they should be deemed desirable. It will take the initiative to encourage the development of people governance as subject of education at every level, with each member of the Foundation acting as an ambassador to this end. This will enable young students, some of whom will be the leaders of tomorrow, to become aware of the place and role of good people governance in our institutions and companies.
The EPGC Conference - European People Governance Conference -will be held once a year in an EU Member State.
Particular cooperation will be developed with every public or private institution or company that wishes to promote people governance.
3. To underscore the initiatives and actions that help the knowledge and application of people governance move forward.
In this vein, the Foundation wishes to create and award two prizes in education and the business world to underscore the initiatives or achievements that have helped advance the understanding or development people governance.
4. To develop a common understanding of people governance values as practiced by the members coming from the various European countries.
This will allow the Foundation to reveal the common principles guiding the People governance across the European companies and institutions. Once laid down it will bring added value for each member either by an exchange of best practices or by a cross analysis of the human governance situations experienced in the various countries.
